Router Buddy Fence

Notice when the Router Buddy Fence is located on the center of the base plate the entire fence fits within the confines of the base plate. There is no part of the fence protruding beyond the edge of the router. This results in good balance and the fence only weights 1-1/2 ounces. It is so light and maneuverable the operator can hardly tell it's there when being used.

I bought a base plate from your company about a year ago. It has turned my router into the power tool that I use most often in my shop. I own several routers and the Porter Cable with your base plate is the only one I've been using lately. I do alot of fluting on flat stock for which I used to use the Porter Cable edge guide accessory. The Porter Cable edge guide was bulky & difficult to adjust. When I use the fence on your edge plate it is much easier to adjust & balance on the work surface(it weighs about 1/10 of what I was using before!). Fence

The Fence on the left above is shown doing a cut along a straight edge. Note the small cutter opening on the fence. The small opening is to minimize the sniping at the start and ending of cuts that are commonly found with the large cutter opening found on the most of the competitive fences. The opening is large enough to clear up to a 5/8" cutter. See solution below when larger than 5/8" cutter is required.

The picture on the right above shows the included Half Rounds attached to the fence. Use this set-up when you need to follow a curved edge.

Examples of the Fence Versatility

The Router Buddy fence is designed to meet the many different needs that are encountered when doing a variety of different tasks. Its ability to accept operator built sub-fences makes it very versatile. A couple of examples of sub-fences are pictured above.

The sub-fence on the left is longer & wider than the standard fence for increased stability. It can also be used as a sacrificial fence. The sub-fence on the right has a larger cutter opening when a larger cutter may be required. Notice that even with sub-fences attached it is still the most compact fence available.
